Change of Places

home.jpg
Even though my life -  when compared to my contemporaries, has gone more or less static there were countable mini change of places.
One change - which is grand -  is the change that made my place of residence from Bengaluru to Hooballi.
26 years at Bengaluru and 28 years at Hooballi - Grand life is it not?
In this 54 years of life, my residences were: 1) 33 A,  Satyanarayana Street ; 2) 11, Damodara Mudaliar Street; 3)186/7 PWD qtrs. 1148 B, 779A Railway quarters and the present "Lalitha Krupa"
My work places: 1) The cattle chaser, MICO, MAS, Kolar Gold Fields, Bengaluru city station and Hooballi (Workshop accounts, divisional accounts and Head quarters accounts)
When I wanted to write about a change in place or moving to new places very many change of places came to mind. Okay, one latest change I shall try to narrate.
Change of Place at our office.
We were in a rented accommodation some 12 months ago... . A complex in the middle of the town. Central Government concern paying lakhs of rupees as rent to a private owner. All this happened because we were given the status of a zone and HQ office started functioning from April 2003 onward. We were in that shopping complex where many shops were selling mobile phones. We were in that complex for more than 3 years from 2009 to 2012.

Ah, there during May 2012 we are in the Eastern wing of our newly built office where there is a feel of 'our own'. We are happily sitting in our office and giving our purchase offices sound financial advises.

Gunshot Piercing

Chill Gunshot Piercing It began, as all life-altering decisions do, with someone else’s fashion. My younger cousin walked in wearing purple ear studs—confident, casual, as if he had always been this stylish creature. I looked at him. He looked at me. The studs looked back at me and whispered, “Upgrade pending…” My wife sealed the matter in one line: “You will look good.” That was it. Proposal passed. No further discussion. A few days later, we went to the jeweller’s shop to buy a chain for our daughter. A normal, respectable outing. But destiny had other plans… and a small device that makes a sound like a stapler with attitude. My five-year-old grandson came along, purely for moral support—his own, not mine. The jeweller inspected my ears like an archaeologist discovering ancient ruins. “Ah! Old holes are there,” he declared, as if announcing hidden treasure. My wife took charge. She marked the exact spot on my earlobes with the seriousness of a surgeon and the confidence of ...
